Guide: what can I cook with what's in my fridge?

What is this tool for?

It's 7 pm, you open the fridge and nothing inspires you? This tool suggests simple, family-friendly recipes based on the ingredients you already have at home. It cuts food waste, saves you a trip to the supermarket and gives you ideas when inspiration runs dry.

How to use it

  1. Click the ingredients you have in the list on the left (or above on mobile). You can also type an ingredient's name in the search box and press Enter to tick it.
  2. Recipes appear instantly: first the ones you can make right now, then the ones missing only one or two ingredients.
  3. Narrow things down with the filters: type of dish, preparation time, vegetarian, number of missing ingredients allowed.
  4. Click a recipe to see the quantities, the steps and the ingredients you're missing. Adjust the number of servings with the โˆ’ and + buttons, and copy the shopping list in one click.

How are recipes ranked?

For each recipe, the tool counts the essential ingredients you have. Optional ingredients (toppings, sides) never block a recipe.

Match = essential ingredients you have รท essential ingredients in the recipe

Recipes are sorted by number of missing ingredients (fewest first), then by match, then by preparation time.

Frequently asked questions

Are my ingredients saved?

Your selection is stored only in your browser, so you'll find it again on your next visit. Nothing is sent to a server.

Why aren't salt, pepper and oil in the list?

Almost every kitchen has them: the tool treats them as always available to keep the selection short.

Can I swap an ingredient?

Often, yes: cream can replace milk in a gratin, any hard cheese can stand in for grated cheese, ham can replace bacon. Trust your taste.

Do quantities change with the number of servings?

Yes, they are recalculated automatically when you change the number of servings on the recipe card.
