1. Introduction
The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you about how the website outilpratique.org (hereinafter "the site") processes users' personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).
The data controller is Benoit, publisher of the site, who can be reached at bnt.andres@gmail.com. For more information about the publisher and the host of the site, see the legal notice.
This English version is provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
2. Data collected
The site offers tools and simulators (for example the loan simulator) whose calculations are performed directly in your browser. The data you enter in these tools (amounts, rates, durations, etc.) is neither stored nor sent to a server: it stays on your device and disappears when you leave the page. The only exception: the city name entered in the rising sign calculator is sent to a place search service (see section 6).
The site has no account, sign-up or newsletter form. No directly identifying data (name, postal address, phone number) is collected through the site itself.
If you contact us by email at the address shown on the site, your email address and the content of your message are kept for as long as necessary to handle your request, and then deleted.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses cookies set by third-party services in order to measure traffic and, eventually, to display advertising. These cookies notably collect technical browsing data (anonymized IP address, pages viewed, device and browser type, visit duration).
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse these cookies. Until you give your consent, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. Your choice is kept for 13 months, after which you will be asked again. You can change it at any time: manage my cookie preferences.
You can also configure your browser to refuse cookies, to warn you before they are set, or to delete them. However, these settings may limit some features of the site.
4. Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure site traffic and improve the tools offered. This service sets cookies and collects anonymized statistical data about your browsing (pages visited, referral source, visit duration, device type).
This data is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy, available on Google's website. You can opt out of this tracking by installing the opt-out browser add-on provided by Google or by configuring your browser accordingly.
5. Google AdSense
The site is intended to display ads through the Google AdSense service once it has been activated. This service may set advertising cookies and use identifiers in order to show personalized ads based on your browsing, including on other websites.
You can manage your personalized advertising preferences directly in the ad settings of your Google account, or through the cookie management tools available in your browser.
6. Place search (rising sign calculator)
To find your place of birth, the rising sign calculator sends the text you type in the "Place of birth" field to two external place search services:
- API Découpage administratif (geo.api.gouv.fr), a public service of the French State operated by the Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM), for French municipalities;
- Open-Meteo Geocoding API (open-meteo.com), a service provided by Open-Meteo, for cities worldwide.
Only the city name you type is transmitted, directly from your browser. As with any Internet request, these services also receive your IP address and technical information about your browser. Your date and time of birth are never sent to them: the sun sign and rising sign are calculated only on your device. These services do not set cookies.
If you do not wish to use these services, you can enter the coordinates of your place of birth manually (latitude, longitude and time offset): no data is sent in that case.
7. Data recipients
The only data collected through the site (analytics data and, where applicable, advertising data) is sent to Google as part of the Google Analytics and Google AdSense services. The city name entered in the rising sign calculator is sent to the place search services described in section 6. No other data is transferred, sold or shared with third parties.
8. Retention period
Analytics data collected via Google Analytics is kept for the periods defined by Google, generally 14 months. Email exchanges are kept for as long as necessary to handle your request.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- right of access to data concerning you;
- right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- right to erasure of your data;
- right to object to the processing of your data;
- right to restriction of processing;
- right to data portability, where applicable.
You can exercise these rights by writing to bnt.andres@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL), the competent supervisory authority in France, or with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
10. Security
The site implements reasonable measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the data exchanged, in particular through an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
11. Changes to this privacy policy
This privacy policy may be updated at any time, in particular to comply with any regulatory, technical or case-law developments. Users are invited to consult it regularly.
